easySPT100

This is an impactor using of Hirst Type compliant with EN16868:2019 and is certified in capture efficiecy.

The suction flow is electronically controlled and can be adjust from 5l/m up 15 l/m, and is maintained constant by using an internal flow meter that continuosly measure suction flow and adjust it. The accurancy of the measure is around 0.5 l/m.

It’s a centrifugal pump with an high efficency motor. The impeller is designet for the maximum head and minimum air resistance. The result is a pump with low energy consumpiton allowing a long battery life.

The instrument is provided with Lithium batteries of type 18650. It’s can be equipper with a minimum of 3 batteries (Light and Base) up to 12 batteris (Full version). However all versions are equipped with batteries as a backup. The “Full” version is equipped with the maximum number oof batteries because is provided with two solar panels, as a power source, and it’s necessary garantee some days of operations without sun (at least 5 days if batteries completely charged and external temperature around 20 degree). An internal electronic control the batteries status and charge it.

The instrument can be supplied using two type of external power sources: mains or solar panels. The inside batteries, always present, are used as a backup and charged using one of the two sources. In case of batteries damage is possible to extract it from battery holder and start instrument only by external power supply. The instrument accept input voltage around 21V, to connect directly solar panels, and for this reason to connect it to main is provided an external power supply.

The instrument should cover different sampling situations that we have grouped in three possible configurations. If your applications is indoor with mains available you probably need the Light version. Instead if your application is for outdoor sampling with mains available, for example the roof of a building, you probably need the Base version. If your application is for outdoor without mains available, for example in the middle of a vineyard, you probably need the Full versione vith tripod and solar panels.

easySPT100 is based on Hirt type sampling method. Particles of defined size, typically 10/100um, enter the nozzle with a predefined speed due to the suction flow and accelerate due to the restriction of the nozzle size. The acceleration depend from size and weight of particles. For this reason at the end of the nozzle some particles will continue their run straight, some others will follow air flow. Particles that will run straight will impact the treated strip and will remain trapped on it. For this reason this type of instrument are also called impactor. The treated strip is fixed on a drum that can completely rotate in one day or in 7 days (depend on which type of head you buy)

The instrument is equipped with some electronics parts, batteries and an hight efficiency pump with a limited life. For these reasons some tricks must be consider to avoid a rapid degradation of some parts. Like a mobile phone batteries must be charged or left charged when the instrument is stopped. The presence of water inside, even if possible in little quantity, must be avoided as much as possible. Also sealing o-rings must be checked to avoid that water enter the instrument. The inside pump have a medium life of at least 6000/8000 hours, after the efficiency of the instrument decrease rapidly (battery consumption, capture efficiency etc etc). For this reason is important to take in consideration the hours of use and prevent the pump problems. Like for easySPT200 the nozzle must be maintained cleaned as much as possible.
